If you rent with your credit card and it covers your insurance, don't let him sell you extra insurance (CYP5 per day). Also, you might wish to bring the car back fully tanked versus prepaying CYP25 for a tank, as gas is not as expensive in Cyprus as elsewhere in Europe.

I rented a nice small Peugot 206 last summer and payed CYP 12 per day incl. insurance. I have seen cheaper prices, but then cars were not as new or not as nice. I like his reliability, and as I said, the drop-off/pick-up at the airport is handy.

I see prices advertised for as low as CYP 8 per day, but that is without insurance, so be careful when comparing prices. Obviously, larger cars, SUVs and cabriolets cost more.
