This wonderfully huge Gothic Cathedral is located in Victoria Square ? originally known as Church Hill . Construction began in 1863 and was completed in 1865 by Benedictine Monks who were more skilled than the convict labour. The monks resided in Subiaco and walked the six miles to the site every day to help with the building of the Cathedral. The land where the cathedral sits was originally meant for the Church of England.
