Be aware of bears in the area, particularly during the salmon spawning season in the fall. Any bear with cubs should NOT be approached!!
Most times the bears are on the search for food, so always keep any food in your car.
This shot of a black bear I took last month on the road into Chilko Lake. It looked rather underfed. Generally they'll run away from vehicles when approached.
