Jagyoknu is a water clock. was invented during the 16th year of the reign of King Sejong, 1434. this clock was used to keep the standard time of the Joseon Dynasty. it was originally located in Borugak in the palace of Changdeokgung. but it was moved here. a new Jagyoknu was of King Jungjong, 1534. and this one is still kept in the Gwangmyongmun Gate in Deoksugung Palace. ( National Treasure No 229 )
