Over the town there is one of the most visited mountain in the world, Pikes Peak. There are 3 ways to reach the top, at about 4500 mt: hiking, the cheapest (it's free) but harder obviously; driving, $10 per person; taking the cog railway from Manitou Springs, that is the most expensive ($26 per/person) but it's also the faster way to get to the top.
