"Coloane Island" Macao Off The Beaten Path Tip by Rodan44
Macao Off The Beaten Path: 53 reviews and 57 photos
Macau's southern most island of Coloane remains mostly undeveloped. Here you will find rugged forested hills, tranquil beaches, and the quaint old village of Coloane. The village itself is worth a visit, even if only to stop at Lord Stow's bakery for their famous egg tarts. Here you will also find St. Francis Xavier Chapel and Tam Kung Temple. The south and east sides of the island contain some fairly decent beaches, which make for some pleasant strolling. On Hac Sa beach you will find the famous Fernando's restaurant, which serves hearty Portuguese fair, but can become very crowded in the evenings.
Coloane can be easily reached from Macau or Taipa island either by taxi or public bus.
