"John Gray's Sea Canoe - Hong by Starlight 18022005" Phang Nga Bay Tip by XLH

Phang Nga Bay, Phuket: 53 reviews and 109 photos

Canoe view of my leg and the sae cave
by XLH

John Gray was the originator of these kind of "eco-tourism" that has spawned dozens of copycats; as informed by my guide, there were at least 16 different companies providing this service but none compares to John Gray's (well, i haven't really tried the others but this was what i gathered from the forums).
JGSC provides sturdy inflatable canoes, that can withstand the ragged edges of the oyster shells, as well as knowledgeable guides who can speak English.
What was special, was that we got to see weird limestone mountains, throw meat at Brahminy Kites (eagles) and watch them swoop down the sea to pick up their food, explore sea caves where you have to lie flat INTO the canoe, and SEE plantkons sparkle while in the dark.
For more pictures, please refer to my travelogue.
