"Covent Garden" Covent Garden Tip by easyoar
Covent Garden, London: 167 reviews and 274 photos
Covent Garden is a wider area than most people give credit too, but to most people Covent Garden is the Central Market area (it has a covered roof as you can see in my photo).
This covered market is inside a larger square. This square and the market are often very very full of people. Most people come here to watch the street entertainers who can be very good. You stand around watching for free, but are expected to drop some coins into a box towards the end of the performance.
Of course there is also the market where you can buy clothes and souvenirs and other bits and bobs. There are also quite a few cafes and food shops. It's quite pleasant, but if there are crowds, watch your wallet as you would anywhere...
