Museums (Egyptian, Cinema...), Torino: 53 reviews and 87 photos

Today I spent a few hours in the Regional Science Museum (yes... I anglicize everything). The ticket office is located in the same building that hosts temporary exhibits, but to see the rest of the permanent exhibits you must go outside and walk next door. There is currently a temporary exhibit featuring dinosaur skeletons from Argentina, with information that is actually interesting available to be read in Italian, English and Spanish. This temporary exhibit also deals a bit with modern animal skeletons. In the building next door, a huge hallway holds hundreds and hundreds of taxidermied animals. Most were well cut-up, but many of deer have disturbing, visible slice marks running the lengths of their necks (I think this could disturb some children). The museum has a very old-fashioned feel, with antique, hand-written cards on display with the animals and minimal information available in Italian.
