Garden Cafe: "Rain Barrel - Garden Cafe - All Natural (Sort of)" Top 5 Page for this destination Islamorada Restaurant Tip by MatthewMetcalfe

Islamorada Restaurants: 31 reviews and 33 photos

The Rain Barrel is a Art Village on Plantation Key. The specialize in crafts and natural artwork.

The Garden Cafe is an extension of this and focuses on healthy food arty environment. They also offer packaged health food as well. There is a nice area right outside the cafe with tables that you can sit and enjoy your meal. There is no seating inside. It's shady as well so you can avoid some of the south Florida heat.

Favorite Dish: All natural food is not my fare. You should have seen the look I got when I asked for a Coke to drink. It's water or Fruit Smoothies for the most part. Oddly they sell espresso's. Not sure if they are caffeine free or not.

They do make a great Cuban sandwich served on a bed of greens. Everyone who ate there liked it though. The only complaint was with the tiny pickles in the salad. Evidently they taste really, really bad.

If you are tired of Fried Seafood it's a definately healthy alternative.
