There are plenty of these types of accomodations for hikers in Finland. Wildnerness cabins in National parks are open for everybody. They are free of charge and you cannot reserve them. They are always open. The main rule is that you ought to leave the cabin as it was when you enterd it. If you use logs, you should always chop some more. There is always a place with a saw where you can chop and usually there is also wood there too.

Usually the surround of these cabins include an outhouse and a they are situated close to water. They always also have a map, whcih provide you an infomation of the hiking trip and next available cabins.

During the hiking peak time, the cabins are very popular. That is why you should carry a tent too, if you don't like the idea of sleeping outside. But it is fun too!
