St Catherine's Church - Crkva Sv. Katarine, Zagreb: 14 reviews and 33 photos
The church of St. Cahterine is one of the most beautiful Zagreb churches. It was erected between 1620 and 1632 in the place of the Dominican church that used to stand there. The building was damaged several times by fires and quakes, but most of its Baroque elements on the outside have been preserved as well as the inside sections. It has works of important artist as the Italian Antonio Quadrio who made the stucco , Giulio Quaglia author of the big medallions with scenes from St. Catherine's life on the ceiling, Francesco Robba (with works in Ljubljana) who made the altar of St. Ignacio or the fresco with St. Catherine among Alexandrine philosophers and writers by Kristof Andrej Jelovsek.
