Brandy Ho's Hunan Food: "One Hot Hunan!" Brandy Ho's Hunan Food Tip by SFHulaGIrl

Very affordable Hunan cuisine in the North Beach area. You can choose your spiciness level on a scale from 1-10. They will also accommodate any of your substitutions (i.e. no bean sprouts, extra water chestnuts, etc.). The interior is nicer than it looks from the outside. Open kitchen so you can watch your dishes being prepared. They also offer lunch specials for either $5.95 or $6.95. The $5.95 special includes hot and sour soup, onion cake, spicy vegetables and your choice of one of their pre-selected entrees. The $6.95 special includes hot and sour soup, cold noodle salad, dim sum and your choice of one of their pre-selected entrees. If you're having the luncheon special, or one dish, you can eat for less than $10.00. If you eat a la carte and add a drink or appetizer, the price might be more like $12.00-$15.00.

Open daily. Credit cards accepted.

Favorite Dish: I generally go for either the Spicy Beef with Green Onions in Wine Sauce ($7.95) or the Gon Pou Chicken Hunan ($7.95). The steamed dumplings ($3.95 for 6) are pretty good, too! Beef fried rice for $6.50.
