"Park Maintenance" City Parks Tip by sophiebeans

City Parks, Saint Petersburg: 6 reviews and 5 photos

  Russian park workers
by sophiebeans

He is a picture of some men laying sod in the Summer Gardens. Nice blue bibs, fellas! One thing I noticed when I was in St. Petersburg is that in these big, open parks with lots of grassy areas, the workers do not use lawn mowers. They use little hand-held weed-wackers! A job of trimming the grass that would take maybe an hour with a lawnmower must take an entire day with a weed-wacker and cost three times as much to do! And besides that, the grass wouln't even get trimmed evenly! I just don't get it.
