HISTORY.

The Seville Fair first took place in 1847 as a cattle trade fair thanks to 2 men: Catalan born Bonaplata and Basque born Ybarra.

The 19 "casetas" or large tents were then set up in the Prado de San Sebastian, which was so big that in 1950 the cattle fair was set apart from the fun part of the fair.

After some years it got its present shape as an artificual city with clocks of "casetas". Since 1973, the Fair Grounds was finally set up in the Los Remedios District, on a rectangular area over 1 kilometre and a half in length and some six hundred metres wide!

There are several casetas where tourists can enter, but tourist can't enter every "caseta"....
