"St. Peter's - Grand Architecture" St. Peter's Basilica - Basilica San Pietro Tip by MatthewMetcalfe

  Vatican Basilica from the balcony
by MatthewMetcalfe

St. Peters was truly awesome to see. The size of the basilica is incredible. After walking through the square outside we entered the Basilica and were awestruck.

Nothing I have ever seen compares to this building. Every nook and cranny is beautiful.

There was a small museum inside that shows off some of the treasures owned by the Vatican. There is a Column in there that is rumoured to have been used by Jesus to spread the word.

You can tour the grotto below (unfortunately I did not) and you can climb the dome (fortunately I did).

Wear your walking shoes and don't miss the Vatican Museum that is adjacent to St. Peters.
