Weigh house is on the left, beside the white building. Witches were believed to be weightless and could thus fly. Until the 18th century people accused of witchery were weighed here. But here the story goes differently than in so many other places. Weighing was always honest! So in fact, if you were afraid of being tried as a witch (and condemned to death), you could have yoursel weighed here and get a certificate that you're not a witch. They say it's the only place in Europe where this happens.
Because of this, Charles V allowed his coat of arms in the facade of the weigh house. His motto Plus outre means Still further.
These days it is a museum and you can still get your witches certificate!
Each year the Witches festival takes place in June. Have a look at Heksenfestival
