In Darwin I met my parents again and we booked a trip to Kakaudu and Litchfield NP's. It was a three day tour with Adventure Tours. It was all very well organised and we had a fantastic adventure. We travelled with a 4WD car with all seats facing front, so it was quite relaxed and no one got car sick because of all the bumpy roads in Kakadu. We spent 2 days in Kakadu and 1 day in Mary River and Litchfield.
In Kakadu we visit sights such as Moleen rock pool, Gunlom Falls, wetlands, we did a hike called Sandstone Walk and we saw aboriginal stone wall paintings on Ubirr rock. After seeing Ubirr rock's art we climb to the top of it and have a look out over Arnhem Land on one side and Kakadu NP on the other side. One night we went to an aboriginal Corroberee with a dance around the fire and aboriginals playing didgeridoo and other insturements. A whole lot of fun I can tell you!!
We didn't see Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls because the water levels here were still too high because it was the end of the rainy season. This meant that crocs where still in these waters, so no humans are allowed in those areas then. If you want to see these falls make sure you go here in the beginning of the dry season when crocs have gone elsewhere and water hasn't evaporated yet.
Make sure to brings loads of insect repellent and long sleeves and trousers for the evenings when mosquitos and other insects are at its worst. Also bring a water bottle, a hat and sunscreen, or you might burn alive in the hot sun.
