Winster is a picturesque village set in the Peak District. it has a wide main street, and narrow alleyways, that lead up into the hillside.
the village owes its existence to the large lead mine here which didn't close until 1938.
Market House is a delightful building of stone arches now filled in and an upper storey of brick and stone dressing. It was the first property in derbyshire acquired by the national trust back in 1906 and now acts as a tourist information centre, opening from April to September.
