  Rare sight...Ayres Rock in cloud.
by K.Knight

Believe it or not Ayres Rock (ULURU) sits right in the middle of a flood plain and when it rains the rock is transformed into an amazing place. Waterfalls are seen all over this massive monolith and the water forms huge freshwater pools around its base. I found it interesting that most people retreated to the comfort of the resort but Anne and I were taken with the beauty of the occasion and we walked around the base of the rock, all 9.5 km's of it, in the pouring rain!
