No, not on horse-back ... driving an "Andong" is travelling by a horse-cart. A two-wheeled carriage is drawn by one horse. In old times only noble families used the Andong in the city, but at Parangtritis the Andong is of a less quality where a totally relaxing atmosphere is provided by the jog of the horse and the sound of the waves. The andong-drivers do not get that much money, still make your bargains. They are used to it ... (we paid about 80.000 Rupiah - 8 Euro for one day)
