  The drama of a storm
by iandsmith

As mentioned elsewhere, our proximity to the cliffs around the beaches at Newcastle put us in a good position at times to view storms, particularly just after they've passed over us and moved out to sea.
Then you can view nature's drama as it unfolds before your very eyes. The blinding flashes preceding the shocking crack of a nearby strike or the distant rumble as the shock wave passes through the clouds. Either way I find it almost spellbinding and Rosemarie and I often head to Bar Beach carpark where this shot was taken from to experience the wonder of a storm front.
It wasn't until after I posted this tip that I realised you couldn't see the lightning unless you click on the picture. Then you can't miss it!
