"Tube Etiquette" Tube (Underground, Subway, Metro). Tip by goodfish

Tube (Underground, Subway, Metro)., London: 422 reviews and 435 photos

A couple of insights here

1. Stand away from the doors and let everyone get off before you get on. Pushing your way in or out of the car is considered to be very bad manners.

2. Londoners are pretty quiet on the Tube and are unlikely to chat you up. If traveling with companions, it's polite to converse quietly.

3. When leaving the station via stairways or esculators, always keep to the right if moving slowly. This allows persons moving at a faster clip to pass you on the left.

4. Always offer your seat to someone elderly, handicapped or otherwise less able to stand if the car is full.
