"Explore Immigrant Past at the Statue of Liberty" Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Tip by Gage17

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in New York Harbor should be at the top of any visitor's list. Although both can be reached by ferry on a day trip, it would be easy to spend a day at each site, especially Ellis Island which has an excellent musuem featuring all the immigrants that once passed through its halls. It was the Statue of Liberty, however, that first greeted new settlers to America, and it is quite memorable to stand under her shadow.

Directions: Tickets for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are sold at Castle Clinton in Battery Park at the tip of Manhattan.
