BARRANCO is the Spanish word for RAVINE. This ravine is very special as for flora and fauna and the reward of walking the path is the cascades at the end......

It is situated in the south-west of Tenerife near the village of Adeje.

The lengths of the footpath is some 7 (often difficult!) kilometers and it will take you some 3-4 hours (return journey)

The green sticker is your ticket and you have to put it clearly visible on your clothes. You have to pay a few euros because this is a RESERVA NARUTAL ESPECIAL: a special Nature Reserve.

Some recommendations:

wear good walking shoes and use 1-2 sticks to make going up and down easier and safer.

It is advisable to have a cap, water and sun-cream! Avoid the hottest hours of the day!!

On the footpath (very narrow at times) there are sections where the surface is stony and slippery...take care....and never leave the footpath.

animals are prohibited, so leave your dog at home....

In case you need assistance there are always 2 guards walking up and down.....

Take it from me that it is quite a challenge but oh, so rewarding!!

Address: near ADEJE, the walk is signposted......
Directions: start is in the village of Adeje.
