Sawatdee, Thai restaurant
Its original location was in a grey area of the city. The owner was claiming that no descent Thai restaurant existed in Montreal. He decided to open his own. He went back to Thailand to bring back objects to decorate his restaurant but had problems to get stuff out of the country. Story says that he got help from the tourism and culture ministry and got various artifacts on loan to really make this place a little museum.
You are welcomed by a huge Bouddha, walls are covered with paintings and silk, objects of all purpose... and the food is great also.

Favorite Dish: The red curry shrimp with coconut milk and lemon grass. The beef with peanut sauce. And the crispy spinach. Everything on the menu is authentic.
Make it as spicy as you want.
