Telc / Teltsch is a small village of only 6000 inhabitants, 75 Km west of Brno / Brünn.
The UNESCO declared the town-square of Telc to be a "World heritage" , as it consists only of beautiful and unique baroque buildings.
You need about 10 minutes to walk from the big parking to the historic town-square of Telc.
You will walk by a lovely lake and see the monastery of Telc first.
Then you enter a gate and will get into a completely different world, full of great baroque buildings !
The town-square - called namesti Zachariase z Hradce / Zarachias von Neuhaus-Platz - is made like a giant triangle.

In 1530 the town burned down and had to be rebuilt completely new. This is one of the reasons , why all of the buildings seem to be built by the same architect, although they are all different .
It is absolutely worth to walk to the very end of the town-square, far behind the plague-column.
There, at the two corners of the small side of the triangel, that forms the shape of the square , you will see 2 of the very few side-streets, where the row of old buildings is interrupted.
And there you will find as well a few nice benches in order to sit down and relax a bit, while taking a closer look at the buildings....

The church of St.Jakob is built on the end of the town-square and opposite of the castle.
The church dates back to 1655 and you may enter it freely during the day.
The tower of the Holy Spirit / ( Vez sv Ducha ) is close to the other towngate of Telc, at the opposite end of the townsquare.
Lots of steps will lead you up the tower and give you a great panorama-view, also at the surrounding lakes that you might miss otherwise completely.
Take a walk through the long arcades on the main square of Telc - the longest part without interruption is about 500 meters long, and wide enough to be partly used as a terrace for a restaurant or a place to offer goods ahead of the shops.
