"Old Town of Rauma" Finland Things to Do Tip by johnsakura
Finland Things to Do: 359 reviews and 405 photos
Rauma is one of the UNESCO protected places in Finland. Its was built back in 1442 and by the 1800´s it became famous by its specific type of local craft.
Rauma for itself is not much I think. I mean I was expecting much more for it, but the Vanha Rauma or the Old Town district is worth to be visited and you´ll apreciate the hundreds of wooden houses. This is supposed to be the most well preserved wooden town in all Nordic countries. More than 500 wooden houses and in wonderful shape.
Directions: Rauma is located 40km from Pori on the West coast of Finland.
