That used to be the radio commercial for Springfield Mall "the only mall you'll ever need".
One of the best things about this mall is they have a "family rest stop" where you can go sit down, watch TV, get a free cup of coffee, use the rest room, rent a stroller, borrow a wheelchair, get your stuff gift wrapped. And even get a little massage.
What to buy: It is an older mall with a higher percentage of low end stores (Target is an anchor). Easy to get in and out of and there are strip malls on the outskirts with places like Borders, Michaels, DSW Shoes. Sports Authority and Modells are good for athletic shoes and there are also Foot Locker, Athletes Foot and a couple others. There are 10 movie theaters, a couple videogame hangout places, and a good size food court. An old fashioned men's barber shop. Good place to mall walk in the morning.
What to pay: Springfield is a suburb of Washington DC and the cost of most things is higher than average for the U.S.
Directions: Near intersection of I-495 and I-95 South. Also near Fairfax County parkway.
Metro stop is Franconia/Springfield on the yellow line. There is a shuttle from the metro to the shopping mall, but it's just a few minutes to walk.
