Walgreen's to the Rescue: "For Small Souvenirs & Postcards...." Top 5 Page for this destination San Juan Shopping Tip by starship

Located in a nice building with beautiful wrought-iron, green painted balconies on the second level, Walgreen's Drug Store was actually the least likely of chain stores I thought we'd see in the heart of Old San Juan; but, it was also a welcome sight and it turned out to be a good shopping spot as well. As the thermometer climbed to 89 degrees, finding a spot for cold drinks wasn't exactly as easy as we thought it would be. Walgreen's on the corner of Plaza de Armas came into view just in time. It had all the products from home and then some. Service was friendly and helpful!

What to buy: Not only were cold bottles of water, soda , snacks and other personal need items reasonable priced, but here you could find almost 2 aisles filled with small Puerto Rico souvernirs, postcards, t-shirts and the like also at reasonable prices (these are not necessarily items made in Puerto Rico by Puerto Ricans though if that is what you are looking for). If you need film, over-the-counter medications or personal items, this is the place for you!

What to pay: About the same as in other drugstores on the US mainland.
