Czech Republic Off The Beaten Path: 158 reviews and 185 photos
The beautiful castle of Becov nad Teplou / Petschau is the major attraction of this small village in the west of the Czech Republic - about half way between Karlovy Vary / Karlsbad and Marianske Lazne / Marienbad.
The castle is perfectely restored and has a great park around it, where you may take a walk, while you maybe have to wait for the next guided tour.
The treasury inside the castle seemed to be very interesting, as plenty of pics of the exhibits were shown in the ticket-office.
When you walk into that small village with maybe 1000 inhabitants you may see some great buildings, like the ones on my picture.
Becov is still completely out of the area, where most foreign tourists would go and therefore prices are still rather low.
But they obviously have plenty of local day tourists.
You may take the train to Becov nad Teplou or drive on road #20 / E49
