"Italian Market" Italian Market Tip by asturnut
Italian Market, Philadelphia: 7 reviews and 12 photos
The Italian Market is real Philadelphia. It's raw, interesting and a little dirty. The market is located in South Philly in the area once dominated by mob. It's no longer only Italian but an ecclectic mix of Asian and Mexican. Like the Reading Terminal, the Italian Market is culinary delight, with lots specialty shops selling spices, tea, coffee, exotic ingredients from far off lands, prime cuts of meat and wide-array of fresh caught fish.
The Italian Market is also a great spot to get an inexpensive lunch, with choices ranging from cafe fare, to middle eastern, mexican, italian, chinese, vietnamese and more! Oh, and how could I forget, it's the home of such famous cheese steak destinations as Pat's and Geno's. Yum!
