Adjacent to the actual "palace" is the Exploratorium, which is a science museum. I could see quite a few children on a field trip about to enter the building. The outdoor area of the palace is a nice stop to make. It is conveniently located between Fishermans Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a large dome structure and places to stroll around outside. This building has appeared in some films such as "the Rock". It can often be used as a meeting place or simply as a romantic spot.
