The Wolfe Ranch Historical Site lies at the beginning of the trail to Delicate Arch. It was settled in the late 1800's by John Wesley Wolfe & his son. They moved from Ohio looking for a drier climate since John had nagging leg injuries from his service in the Civil War. For a decade they lived remotely in a one room cabin plus corral until his daughter convinced him to build a new cabin with a wooden floor - the cabin that stands today. The family remained here for a few more years then moved back to Ohio in 1910.
The structure is on the National Registrar of Historic Places
