Miscellaneous: The one thing you are sure to find in the desert are flies. Its no joke that Aussies wear corks around their hats. The flies are unbelievably annoying, trying to get in your mouth, up your nose, in your ears and in your eyes. ( I swallowed one - not recommended)

You can buy nets to put over your hat in local stores altho there were none when we visited
