  Gorilla at Loro Parque
by easyoar

Favorite thing: Gorillas are big animals, you wouldn't want one to turn nasty on you if you were inside thir cage! The daily intake of food for an adult gorilla is around 8 kilos, which consists of fruit, cereals, yogurt and vegetables. Amusingly, they are only allowed to drink bottled mineral water too!

Gorillas normally live in groups where the females all live with one dominant male, and the rest of the males live in a bachelor group. Most zoos want mixed groups, so Loro Parque decided to set up an area to house all the male gorillas currently not needed by other zoos. When a new male is needed elsewhere for breeding purposes, Loro Parqu then send out the most suitable candidate who then becomes king of his own hareem. Sounds like a nice easy life to me!
