Wherever you are in the world, try to avoid eating the crap they serve in the hotel. Oftentimes, it's tasteless and devoid of imagination, even it's a 5* hotel. Having said that, I can't say much about the food they serve at Hanoi Hilton but I can only sing praises for the charming villa restaurant down the road called the Emperor

Favorite Dish: The service there was excellent and the waiter genuinely happy when we took all 3 of his recommendations - green papaya salad, chicken grilled with lemongrass and fish steamed in a banana leaf. All these were his personal favourites, he mentioned, with a twinkle in his eye...
After the meal, I gave my verdict, the best dish was the Green Papaya Salad! It was every bit as delicious as the waiter said it would be. Silvers of tangy green papaya with pork and shrimp, flavoured with peanut, fish sauce and chilli.

Each dish cost an average of US6 each.

Address: 26 Nguyen Thai Hoc
