Here is an image that comes to mind when the name "Paris" is mentioned. To many people, this IS Paris. As you may have imagined, the tower is plainly visible from various parts of the city. A well trained eye can see it on the descent into Charles De Gaulle airport.

The Eiffel Tower was not originally built to be a permanent exhibit, however the positive response to it must have ensured that it would endure for many years. It sits on the bank of the Seine River and is somewhat seperate from some of the other popular attractions in the city. Nevertheless, this is a hub of activity where people will see items near and under the tower. Boat rides leave from a dock on the riverbank, and then you have the lines for accessing the tower itself.

You can choose to wait for an elevator all of the way to the top, or you can simply go up to the second level. To get to the second level, you may choose between an elevator or walking up. It was fun to ascend the steps of one of the four legs leading to the next platform. Whether you go part of the way up or all of the way up, the views should be incredible. Lines can be long at times, however this is one of those things that you really came to see.
