With great certainty, this monument to military conquest is one of the most amazing monuments anywhere. It stands at a vast traffic circle. Roads lead into this circle like spokes on a bicycle. The arch is at the hub. There are underground passageways that access the arch from the surrounding area in case you were wondering how people get across all of that busy traffic. Underneath this monument is a tomb to an unknown French soldier. Be respectful here. An admission fee will grant you access to the steps that ascend the arch. Some exhibits are on display as you approach the top. The view is amazing, and you will recognize some of the other monuments of Paris. Also, you will see all of the streets that converge to the central point where you now stand. We came in the morning, and it was not crowded at all.
