New Porto: "An owner who cares" Ljubljana Restaurant Tip by markyg

Ljubljana Restaurants: 284 reviews and 351 photos

We were looking for a place that was on the main drag, but a little less tourist inhabited. We found it. The owner was very friendly. The place had all local people who invited us to their table for drinks and conversation. When we couldn't find what we wanted on the menu but told the owner what we wanted, the owner said she would make us up some appetizers. It was wonderful. What the place lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in friendliness and relaxing comfort.

Favorite Dish: Borovnice I believe is a local Slovenian drink, atleast I have only seen it in Slovenia. It is made with blueberries and hard alcohol, possibly vodka. The owner of the restaurant/bar makes her own, telling how her grandmother picks the berries and then she bottles them. It is definitely one of the best drinks I have ever had.
