"Kentucky: Natural Bridge State Resort Park" United States of America Off The Beaten Path Tip by Stephen-KarenConn

  Kentucky's Natural Bridge
by Stephen-KarenConn

This very scenic but out-of-the-way State Park is is home to Natural Bridge, an imposing natural sandstone arch that stands like a sentinel over an enchanting mountain hideaway. The arch spans 78-feet in length and 65-feet in height, and it is the largest of literally scores of natural stone arches within the state park and the adjoining Red River Gorge. Many of the other arches, such as Sky Bridge and Princess arches are also quite impressive. Hiking trails to the various arches offer an exciting outdoor experience.

The State Park also offers many ammenities including: Hemlock Lodge, Cottages, camping, restaurant, sky lift, gift shops, swimming pools, hiking trails, nature center, pedal boats, minature golf, and more. In a state that is known for its fine state parks, this one ifs our favorite of them all.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park is 52 miles southeast of Lexington, Kentucky. Take I-64 to the Mountain Parkway, at Slade Take Ky-ll to the park. It is open year round., 24/7.

2135 Natural Bridge Road
Slade, KY 40376

Admission to the park and hiking to the Natural Bridge is free.
Many of the ammenities, such as the sky lift and swimming pool, require a small fee.
