  Terrace of the café

There are some restaurants/cafés on the castle hill, all of them located on the southern side with great views of the old town. They all have a nice, cosy atmosphere.

I went into the small café which is located most towards the cathedral (No. 6?). I am sorry I cannot tell you any telephone number or website. The building dates from 1726/28 - very charming. When I walked on my jaw dropped down: there was a small terrace with stunning views of the old town of Meissen, absolutely wonderful!

Favorite Dish: I had a piece of cake and a tea; both very good. I remember that guests at the neighbouring table had a mixed salad and they were pleased as well. Not to miss is a glass of local wine though ...

Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Southern front of the castle hill, in one of the Domherrenhaeuser (No. 6?).
Price: less than US$10
