Churrería "el moro": "Churros and chocolate" Mexico City Restaurant Tip by pencho15

Mexico City Restaurants: 246 reviews and 188 photos

The Churrería "el moro" was founded in 1935 by the spanish Francisco Iriarte. He was surprised to find that this spanish dessert didn`t exist in Mexico, so he decided to introduce it to the country.
Eventually the churros became even more popular than in Spain and more churrerías were opened, but "el moro" remains as the most famous.
"El Moro" is open all the day everyday, you can eat your churros inside the churrería or take them to go.

Favorite Dish: The churro is made of fried flour with sugar and cinnamon, in Mexico it`s usual to have them for dinner but if you are used to having continental breakfast they may be a good replacement, the churros are usually served with hot chocolate.
