Ice Hotel: "The coolest hotel there is!" Top 5 Page for this destination Sweden Hotel Tip by Sjalen

We never stayed the night but made a daytrip, and now I have been there, I can only say that I WANT to stay the night. One day I will fork out the money as it is absolutely amazing! In the rooms which have a temperature of around minus five degrees C, you lie on a wooden bed frame with ice around it but as you lie on reindeer skins it is all very warm underneath. As you go to bed, you are given a polar sleeping bag and in the morning, you get warm lingonberry toddy.
Unique Qualities: Halls of ice, ice church, uniquely designed ice rooms (the suits are even more unique as they have individual looks) and the famous ice bar...what more can you want. It is sometimes too quiet in the rooms for people to be able to fall asleep :))) Then all the daytime activities of course...dogsledging, snowmobile rides...oh and the fantastic skies in midwinter if you go around Christmas. See my Jukkasjaervi page for outdoor pics of it and of the bar.
Price Comparison: most expensive
Directions: 20 kilometres east of Kiruna in the far north.
Price: US$180 and up
