"Immerse Yourself in Art - and have a Gourmet Lunch" Philadelphia Museum of Art Tip by suzannehye

by suzannehye

The Philadelphia Museum of Art provided my sister and I a day steeped in beauty - we never got to the armor and weapons, but spent the entire day gazing at some of the most beautiful art ever created. One of the best features of the museum is the re-created rooms, from French hotels to Pennsylvania Dutch kitchens. Also, the cafe is fabulous - the day we were there there were African specialties, a cold salad bar, another lovely vegetable bar - everything was very fresh and far from the usual fare. A little pricey, but well worth it. There is also a lovely restaurant. Two gift shops have everything from books to jewelry, including many hand-crafted items. We got there early and parked just outside the back entrance - for free all day!
