"Pantheon" Pantheon Tip by mattreider

Pantheon, Rome: 272 reviews and 577 photos

The Pantheon is one of the best-preserved Roman buildings, because someone had the sense to convert it to a church, rather than tear it down and use its parts to build a church. A beauty of symmetry, a marvel of engineering, and its pretty neato, too.

The oculus is open in the top to let in sun (and rain) that drains through the floor.

As you know, a must see activity.

Directions: Just wander around and follow the signs.
