Grey Dog's Coffee: "All Around Good Food and Coffee" The Grey Dog Tip by trvlhke

The Grey Dog, New York City: 5 reviews and 1 photos

This is a small coffee shop in Greenwich Village that has a great breakfast and lunch menu as well. CitySearch rates them as one of the best breakfasts in NYC and a 10 out of 10 for their coffee.

The atmosphere is a cross of coffee-campers and village residents it seemed. It's a little crowded, but being from out of town it allowed for some people watching. The couple next to be me were talking about their 'projects for the Sundance Film Festival'. Who knows? They might have been full of it but made for fun overhearing right?

Favorite Dish: Breakfast is only served until noon so we missed though but the menu looked yummy. The regular favorites were there.

Lunch was everything from a tofu hero to a mega burger with fries. I opted for the fresh mozzerella with tomato and olive spread which was great. Eric tried (and loved) the French Dip. The soups around me looked hearty and delicious, but I had no room. The bread for the sandwich is fresh baked and thickly sliced so very filling.
