Rock Center Cafe: "Not really worth the view..." Rock Center Cafe Tip by trvlhke

Rock Center Cafe, New York City: 5 reviews and 14 photos

The food was "ok". All was well prepared and came in a timely manner. The selling feature of the restaurant though is that it looks out onto the Rockerfeller Center ice skating rink. There are a lot of seats though where this is not the view though (like ours). I can't say anything bad about the food, however, for the prices (set minimum $18/per person for lunch) I think you can find better. As for the view, you can enjoy it for free from the outside or from behind the glass in the coucourse outside of the restaurant.

The restaurant does not take reservations and all in your party must be present for seating. Keep that in mind if you are trying to go somewhere or see something, especially if you are in a larger party.

Favorite Dish: The salmon and crab cakes were very good. Truely native Marylanders probably won't like the crab cakes (not lump meat) but others will. The steaker were well prepared also.

The mixed drinks were generous. A Long Island Iced Tea was in at least a 12-16 oz glass (with a price to match I'm sure). There is also a good wine list.

Address: Concourse at Rockafeller Center
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: Take the elevator beside Rockafeller Center down to the concourse level. If you're standing at street level above the Sea Grill you can see the Rock Center Cafe beside the ice rink.
