Ta Prohm is probably the most original temple which has been left in its natural state to show what the archeologists from "Ecole Francaise f'Extreme-Orient" found...But they are doing all they can to ensure the remaining ruins do not collapse and clearing of the vegetation ( mainly strangler figs & silk cotton trees ) ti allow entry to the temples.

Built by Jayavarman VII, this structure was indeed the Royal Monastery. Probably one of the most recongizable structure besides Angkor, thanks the Lara Croft...

Ta Prohm also has beautiful carvings, hard to see but the state it is in makes it more interesting to search for the carvings...There's also a face tower in the area. You'll need at least an hour to venture this area....
