"The Holy Virgin Cathedral" More Churches Tip by Nemoa

More Churches, San Francisco: 5 reviews and 7 photos

This is an interesting sight for those who practice the Russian Orthodox faith.

The building is impressive with is gold onion shaped domes shining in the sun.

The only way to visit it is, I think, attending a service but the outside is impressive enough. The fact that there is no seats and you have to attend standing discouraged me from attending mass.... too much for a Roman Catholic.

Services are at 8am and 6pm and another one at 9.45 on Sundays.

To get here you can take bus 2 or 29.

There is a big Russian community in SF and this church and many of the business that surround it are a proof of it.

Address: 6210, Geary Blvd.
Directions: Richmond District. Geary Blvd
